Description
The Beatles “Second Album” (Capitol Records T 2080) signed by all four members with ASA COA
Own an extraordinary piece of music history with this signed copy of The Beatles’ Second Album, featuring signatures attributed to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr and accompanied by an ASA COA.
Released by Capitol Records in the United States in 1964, The Beatles’ Second Album captures the remarkable early period of Beatlemania. The T 2080 edition is the mono US release, with its distinctive collage-style cover providing an instantly recognizable backdrop for the signatures.
The album features an energetic selection of early Beatles recordings, including “She Loves You”, “Roll Over Beethoven”, “You Can’t Do That”, “Long Tall Sally”, “I Call Your Name”, “Please Mr. Postman” and “Money (That’s What I Want)”. Produced in London by George Martin, the record is closely associated with the period in which The Beatles were rapidly transforming popular music on both sides of the Atlantic.
What makes this example especially attractive is the presence of signatures attributed to all four members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Complete sets of Beatles signatures are significantly more desirable to collectors than individual autographs, particularly when presented on period music memorabilia.
The combination of the classic Capitol Records album cover, four attributed signatures and accompanying ASA COA makes this an impressive centerpiece for a Beatles, music history, vinyl or autograph collection.
Achievements
The Beatles became one of the most influential and commercially successful groups in popular music history. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr helped transform the sound, presentation and cultural importance of popular music during the 1960s.
The Beatles’ Second Album was released in the United States on April 10, 1964, during the extraordinary first wave of American Beatlemania. It followed the huge success of Meet the Beatles! and went on to replace that album at No. 1 on the US Billboard album chart.
The album remains a fascinating representation of The Beatles’ early American catalogue, combining original Lennon-McCartney compositions with rock and roll and R&B material that influenced the group’s early sound.
Signed memorabilia featuring all four Beatles occupies a special place in autograph collecting. With John Lennon and George Harrison no longer alive, the possibility of creating new complete sets of signatures from all four members no longer exists, adding to the historical appeal of genuine period-signed pieces.
Add this signed The Beatles’ Second Album with ASA COA to your collection and own a remarkable display piece celebrating John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr together on a classic album from the height of Beatlemania.
